CEO and CIO
Joe founded AnaCap Financial Partners in 2005 as Europe’s first specialist private equity firm focusing on the financial services sector. Since inception, the partnership has grown from €300 million to more than €3 billion of assets under management, and AnaCap is now the leading financial services investor in Europe, owning three insurance businesses and banks in five jurisdictions.
Before founding AnaCap, Joe co-founded auto finance company On:line Finance, which was the first investment grade rated start-up in Europe and the first lender over the internet in Europe. From launch, On:line grew to over a billion dollars in assets within five years, and was one of the ten fastest growing companies in the UK during that period. On:line was subsequently acquired by GMAC UK, the UK finance arm of General Motors, with Joe becoming CEO of GMAC UK. Previously, he was a Vice President at Salomon Brothers.
Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington and an MBA from London Business School.
Head of Private Equity
Peter leads AnaCap’s Private Equity business, having joined as a Partner in 2006 at the beginning of the firm’s creation. Peter has personally led the transformation and development of each of AnaCap's portfolio investments to date working with strong, highly motivated management teams to provide the support necessary to create exceptional returns for investors.
As Head of Private Equity, Peter oversees the Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Services and Risk & Liability Management teams, which have each played a critical role in AnaCap’s success over the past decade.
Peter has extensive experience across the financial services sector where he has operated throughout his entire career and prior to AnaCap held various Executive roles across the sector including Commercial Director within a leading private equity-backed insurance services provider, having previously held a number senior roles within GMAC and the UK Consumer Finance division of GE Capital.
Risk & Liability Management
Chris Patrick heads AnaCap's Risk & Liability Management team, which supports management teams in data analysis in order to help portfolio companies achieve objectives and optimise financial performance. The team sources and structures funding for existing and target investments, as well as supporting portfolio companies in the assessment and management of key credit, funding and market risks.
Chris has more than 20 years' experience in European structured finance and capital markets. Prior to joining AnaCap, he was Managing Director and Head of Principal Finance - European Structured Products, at Lehman Brothers. He has also held senior positions at Credit Suisse and Nomura International. Chris started his career in Commercial Real Estate at Goldman Sachs.
Chris holds a BA in Economics from Yale University.
Head of Credit
Justin joined AnaCap shortly after inception in July 2006 as part of the Business Services team, before building out the firm's Risk & Liability Management function and launching AnaCap's Credit investment strategy. He continues to manage the firm’s Credit operation, which has grown to more than €1 billion of assets under management since its launch in 2009.
Prior to joining AnaCap, Justin was a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's Securitised Products Group in London, focusing on debt structuring and principal finance. Justin began his career in Fixed Income at Goldman Sachs in New York before relocating to London. He also served as a Managing Director of Lunar Group, a private equity investor in China.
Justin received a BA cum laude from Princeton University in the United States.
Chief Operating Partner
As Chief Operating Officer, Michael is responsible for ensuring the most effective use of AnaCap's resources and the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s processes and procedures. This includes direct management of the Finance, IT systems, HR and Compliance functions in addition to the oversight of the Fund Administrators.
Michael, a qualified accountant, has over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector including investment/asset management, venture capital, private equity and insurance. From an early stage in his career Michael has reported directly to the board members and shareholders and has been responsible for recruiting and managing teams and implementing systems and processes in order to meet the demands of a growing business.
Head of Investor Relations & Communications
Amber leads the Investor Relations & Communications programmes at AnaCap, including managing relationships with investors, fundraising and communications relating to the firm’s activities. During her time with the firm, Amber has helped AnaCap grow assets under management tenfold to more than €3 billion across its Private Equity and Credit funds.
Prior to joining AnaCap, Amber was responsible for European Business Development at The Gores Group, a US private equity fund. She began her career with Gores in 1999 and opened the group's first European office in London in 2004. Previously, Amber worked in the Private Clientele Group of CIBC Oppenheimer, where she managed investment research and marketing activities.
Amber has a dual Bachelor's degree in Finance and Business Law from California State University, Northridge.
